Practicing Worship is an event series for Christians to deepen their experience of Jesus in an environment of expectation & experimentation through the arts. Open Hearts is the first event in the series.
I believe there is more to worship than we’ve experienced. Scripture says there is no end to God’s love for us, yet we are easily satisfied to expect so little of it. We need to go on a journey, a search through these questions:
What does God love about me?
Where do I need God to meet me in heart, mind, and body?
I feel stuck. Where do I go from here?
Is there more to worship than I’ve experienced?
Is something stopping me from discerning God’s voice?
Do worship and the arts even go together?
Why is it so easy to see the creativity in others but not in myself?
Can I experience more freedom in worship, and in life in general?
What does it mean to Practice Worship?
If you are curious about any of these questions, I invite you to Open Hearts. Through creative activations including guided writing, painting, and movement, you will be led into connection with your heart, mind, and body. The more connected we are to ourselves, the more we can connect to God, because the Spirit of God dwells in those who put their faith in Him.
It will be vulnerable. You might be intimidated. It may even seem vague. But I believe that God wants to meet you in your humanity and speak to you through more than just songs (and maybe some songs, too).
Join us for the first of its kind weekend, posturing your heart with expectancy and deepening your faith and hope in God’s love and presence.
A few details…
Session times:
Friday February 16th - 7-9pm
Saturday February 17th - 10am-4pm, lunch provided
Lunch will be provided on Saturday. Please list any dietary restrictions when registering. Housing is not provided for this event.
Tickets are not refundable, but are transferable. Should you be unable to attend, please reach out to share the name of who you would like to transfer your ticket to.
